Social Media Aim For US Politicians’ Marketing Budgets

According to The Financial Times, politicians are set to shell out nearly $1bn on online ads, six times the $159m they spent during the last presidential campaign, information they cite via Borrell Associates, a media analytics company. Social media sites will capture $558m, or nearly 60 per cent of that total, up from a third in the 2012 election.
