Spending on mobile phone advertisements in India is estimated to grow 43% to Rs.430 crore by the end of March 2014, as the availability of inexpensive smartphones and tablets running Google Inc.’s Android system and a drop in price of high-speed data plans makes them more accesible to customers.
Advertising spending stood at Rs.300 crore in the year ended 31 March, according to a report released on Thursday by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), an industry body, and media website Exchange4media.com.
“Mobile is today the only medium that can deliver high reach, high engagement and high efficiency–all of this in a personalized manner,” said C.V.L. Srinivas, chief executive of GroupM, South Asia.
